“and those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music..”

Hi all, I’m Georgina. Some call me “Lady G”, some “Blackie” (because I love Pearl Jam’s song ‘Black’) and others “Ribenaki” (because I like ouzo with ribena juice). Probably you have seen me around buskers, taking photos or dancing, and most probably I approached you to stand up and dance!

Busking is a great world where everything happens with the greatest vibes, but busking in Athens is even more!  I always admire people in the arts, especially those in music.  Buskers around the city are like miracle makers. They are always there  to cheer you up, play favourite songs and smile to you no matter what is going on in their life. Their music might seem imperfect and their perfomance awkward but it’s real and it’s for you. They say that you can find happiness in the strangest places, so next time you are walking down the street and hear a melody, take the chance to stand for a while, enjoy it and leave a smile and some coins.
